Week of October 8th
Bonjour !
Last Tuesday, we started the class with mini-skits about what we had learned the week before. The kids had to play with a friend saying "Bonjour, ca va ?" "Oui ca va" "Au revoir". The students did very well!
Then we finished our activity about the vocab of the class. I explained that when they want to ask for something in the class, they have to be polite and say: "La gomme/le crayon/la colle/les ciseaux, s'il te plait" (The eraser/the pencil/the glue/the scissors, please). Then they would say: "merci" (thanks). I hope that they make a habit to always ask for things in French. Of course, it takes time, but I am confident that, at some point, it will be natural.
Then, I introduced them to counting in French from 1 to 10. Lots of them are real beginners and don't know the numbers in French at all. I tought they did a awesome job to learn the five first numbers pretty quickly! Please review the numbers up to ten with them. Next time, we will learn a song with the numbers from 1 to 12. It will be helpful and a fun way to remember the numbers.
Have a nice weekend (In French, passez un bon week-end) and see you Tuesday (a mardi).
