Week of October 1st
Bonjour !!!
I was so happy to see the kids Tuesday! We have a nice group of 8, which is perfect for a dynamic interaction.
We started the class with a little bit about France and the French language. Where is France? What are the symbols? Do they know words in French?
Then, I started to introduce the first words: "bonjour" (hello), "salut" (hi). We learned when to use "Monsieur" (Sir) and "Madame".
We also learned how to greet each other: "ca va ?" or "comment ca va ?" (how are you doing). When asked that, we can answer by "Oui, ca va" if you're good or "non, ca va pas" (if you're not so good...). We did worksheets about that. The kids had the opportunity to do some exercices on the computer with the CR Rom.
At the end, we started to learn the vocab of the class: "gomme" (eraser), "crayon" (pencil), etc. but it was already 5:00 pm, so we'll finish this activity next Tuesday.
I am looking forward to seeing you all. Don't forget to bring a binder for the class (a 2 inches is good).
Bon dimanche (have a good Sunday).
