Last Tuesday, Adeline, our second intern, taught the class. We continued the class on the same theme: "les vacances" (vacation).

First, Adeline did a little reminder about the vocab that the children had learned the week before with Karine. Then, she presented a specific theme: "La plage" (the beach). She asked around if the children were going to the beach during the vacation. Then she asked what we could do at that beach: "on fait quoi a la plage ?". She showed a few scenes: "faire du surf" (to surf), "jouer au ballon" (play ball), "faire un chateau de sable" (make a sand castle), etc. Then, she presented a new vocabulary set: "l'etoile de mer" (starfish), "le poisson" (fish), "le ballon" (the ball).

She asked around what they could pack in their suitcases to go on vacation to the beach: "les lunettes de soleil" (sun glasses), "le maillot de bain" (swimsuit), "la creme solaire" (sun screen), etc.

Adeline gave the children a first picture of the beach during the summer and asked to count the fish (in French of course) and then she asked them to retrieve the vocab in the picture. Then she distributed a picture of a "virgin" beach with just sand, the ocean and the sky, and they had to cut out pictures to paste on the big picture (vocab objects or animals that they were choosing). Then, they had to take and cut a tag with the name of each object/animal and paste it besides the object/animal.
