Week of December 6th
Bonjour,
This week, we started a new unit about the weather. This unit will be short due to the holiday break.
Tuesday, December 6th
We started learning how to ask the question: "Quel temps fait-il ?" (What's the weather like) and answer this question by one of the followings: Il fait beau (the weather is nice), il neige (it's snowing), il pleut (it's raining), Il fait mauvais (it's bad weather) and Il y a du soleil (it is sunny). Then the children had a worksheet to do about the weather in France and one about the different kind of elements of the weather (soleil.sun, pluie/rain, neige/snow, vent/wind, nuage/cloud).
Thursday, December 8th
We started by listening a song about La pluie (the rain). I had brought a lot of accessories we use to go outside (hats, sunglasses, scarf, gloves, umbrella). The children had to match my outfit with the type of weather we usually use the accessories. For example, we use les lunettes de soleil quand il y a du soleil (we use the sunglasses when it's sunny) or we use les gants quand il neige (we use the gloves when it's snowing), etc. Then each child got an accessory and I asked around: Qui a le bonnet (who's got the winter hat?) and they had to answer: c'est Clara (it's Clara).
Then they did a worksheet to check the vocabulary about the elements of the weather.
See you next week. Don't forget Thursday is our "fete de Noel", come and join us for a fun hour.
